Come meet some of Litchfield’s most interesting people, now residing at the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Located along Minnesota Highway 22 South, it currently holds well over 9,000 gravesites dating all the way back to the nineteenth century. In 1869 local residents purchased twenty acres and organized the “Trustees of the Litchfield Cemetery.”
In 2017 and 2018 local actors portrayed local historical characters, cosponsored by the Heritage Preservation Commission and the Lake Ripley Citizens’ Cemetery Committee.
If you’d like to research individual burials, more than half have been photographed and can be searched at Find-a-Grave.
